Captain America: Civil War

Captain America: Civil War is the third part of the superhero epic in which we see various superheroes taking sides and fighting among themselves. The two sides are Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) who fight over some ideological differences. The story starts with a mission including new Avengers team and lead by Captain America which results in several casualties. Thus the UN asks Avengers to sign a deal where they need to take permissions from UN panel before taking any action. Tony Stark feels guilty about this loss and forces the Captain to sign the deal. Captain America, on the other hand, the free Avengers team will then be corrupted by politics and bureaucracy. This difference in opinions results in war between the two teams when Captain’s old friend, The Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) becomes one of the suspects.

There are many old as well as new superheroes in the Civil War like Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Vision (Paul Bettany) and Falcon (Anthony Mackie) from the old movies. Deadpool

Deadpool came as a surprise in the starting of the year. It was a different kind of superhero movie starring Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson and Deadpool. Unlike other superheroes, who are always serious, crying and tensed about their missions, Deadpool is a chilled out, naughty, humorous and extraordinary superhero. The movie starts when Wade learns that he has terminal cancer and agrees to participate in a secret experiment that might cure his disease. However, the experiment is way more torturous than he thought and leaves him with burnt irreparable skin and advanced healing powers. He then turns himself into Deadpool and goes out to take revenge on those who did this to him. The supporting actors include Ed Skrein, Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano and T.J. Miller and has been directed by Tim Miller.

Arrival focuses on two people, a theoretical physicist (Jeremy Renner) and a linguist (Amy Adams) finding a way to communicate with the mysterious aliens who have planted their huge ships at various places around the globe. The thrilling part is that they do not know whether the aliens are the threat to the world or not. Arrival also has Michael Stahlberg and Forest Whitaker as supporting actors and has been directed by Denis Villeneuve.

The Jungle Book (2016)

The new version of Jungle Book released this year is a re-imitation of tales by Rudyard Kipling. The director of the movie, Jon Favreau has made use of spectacular graphics as well as CGI to produce a whole community of real looking animals that stay around Mowgli (Neel Sethi), the boy who was raised up in Jungle in between the animals by a pack of wolves. However, the boy is hunted by a tiger names Sher Khan (Idris Elba) who wants to kill the child. However, the increasing danger for Mowgli forces his guardian Bagheera (ben Kingsley) to take him out of the jungle to the ‘man village’ where he can stay safely away from Sher Khan. While Bagheera takes him to the village, Mowgli meets a lazy bear named Baloo (Bill Murray). Mowgli helps him get honey and they become friends. Also in between, Mowgli saves an elephants’ child by getting him out of the pit. When Bagheera tell Baloo that he needs to let Mowgli go, Mowgli is kidnapped by the Bandar-log. The king of the Bandar-log, King Louie (Christopher Walken) wants Mowgli to summon “the red flower” or fire for him. However, he escapes and learns that Sher Khan has killed Akela. Mowgli runs in anger towards the village and brings back the red fire to kill Sher Khan. In this attempt, he sets the forest on fire by mistake. However, with his clever thinking he fights Sher Khan to bring the entire forest together once again. The movie is far better than the previous versions and instead of being a kid movie, the film was a big hit at the box office.
